Bath time

Here is a photo of Wyatt's first bath! He really liked the warm water and his firefighter duck! As soon as he got in the tub, he christened the bathroom, so we had to empty the water and start over.

Welcome Baby Brother

Here is Elsie welcoming home little Wyatt. When she first saw him, she said, "Hi Baby! Hi Wyatt!" Wyatt was so excited to meet her too - he brought her a present from the hospital. Check out the new pink and purcple tricycle. What a cool brother.

More Pictures of Wyatt

Here he is! He had to stay in the hospital for an extra day due to jaundice (hence the suntaning picture). Here he is with Grandmama and on his way home. Yeah!

Welcome Wyatt Herrington Wire

Well, just a few shorts hours after our hot trip to the zo0, the contractions really picked up. Daddy and Elsie were in the pool and had to cut their swim short. Uncle Howard came over to pick up Elsie and mommy and daddy went to the hospital about 6:00pm. Wyatt arrived at 8:40pm weighing in at 8 pounds 10 ounces. He was 20.5 inches long. Needless to say, he is a BIG boy. Here is a picture. More later.

Contactions - Whatever. We're going to the ZOO

Here we are the Saturday morning that Wyatt was born - and yes, we are at the zoo. Mommy had been having contractions all week, so we figured, who cares, we are going to go and have some fun at the Zoo with Elsie. Besides it might speed things along. Mommy and Daddy met up with Chrissy, Benton and Gabriel for a fun morning at the zoo. Here are a few pictures of our exciting morning. The day would only get better.

Ready for Wyatt

Well, the room is all done and we are just waiting for Wyatt to show up. Here is a picture of his new room (formerly Elsie's room). Thanks to Howard, Liz and Lonon for the Zanzibar bedding and crib that they lent us! It is just perfect.

Poolside

Couldn't resist posting the picture of the little belle in her two piece suit! How cute is she? This was taken at the church family day that daddy planned. Mommy, Daddy, Elsie and Grandmama all went to the Bellaire pool for a little fun in the sun. Don't you just love the belly?

Great Granddaddy Visit

We always make time for Great-Granddaddy visits. This is Elsie hanging out at his house for the afternoon. She tried on his hat and even got him to do stickers with her.

It's all about Elmo

Well, it's E-mo as Elsie calls him and he is her favorite. Elmo is on the back of every diaper, so Mommy taught her that Elmo goes on your hinee. This is super cute to hear her say. She even has an Elmo outfit from Grandmama. This is here at the store trying on an Elmo hat. Cute!

Butterflys again

Here we are again at the museum with all of our friends for the Adopt-a-Butterfly event. Elsie really gathered a crowd this time. This is one of our favorite things to do! We can't wait for Wyatt to join us for the next time.

Pics of Wyatt

Ok all of you - now quit complaining that I have not posted any pictures of Wyatt. Here he is in all his glory (boy parts and all). There are two stages, one from the very beginning of pregnancy (about two months along - picture #1) and then from the Good Friday sonogram at the hospital (picture #2 where we really got to see him. His feet are in picture #3 and picture #4 is pretty obvious. He is growing and doing well. But mainly, he is a kicker! Someone get this boy a soccer ball please! Every one is asking what Elsie thinks about all of this and the truth is, she has no clue. Oh we have told her about the baby, but I think she is in denial. Anyway, to answer your other questions, yes, it is a boy and his name will be Wyatt (after Iska's father) and no we are not having a shower (but we are registered at Babies R Us in case anyone wants to get some diapers). His due date is 8-8-08, no, that is not a typo, that is really the due date. Thanks for everyone's wonderful support through this exciting time in our lives. We can't wait to welcome little Wyatt into our family.

Virginia

Here are just a few pics from the trip to Virginia (the rest are on the other memory card!) Elsie had a great time visiting her Grandma and Grandpa and her cousins and Aunt. Here are some of my favorites from the end of the trip.

Adopt-A-Butterfly

Well, here we are again at the Houston Museum of Natural Science's adopt-a-butterfly celebration. We have tried to go everytime since Elsie was born and this May was no exception. We adopted two butterflys this year - one for Elsie and one in memory of Elsie's Great Grandmother, Elsie Lonon. We even got Grandmama to go with us this time, along with The Mackey's and the Ervin's! What a crew - five adults and four kids!

Over the Bridge

Well, this Sunday, Elsie decided it was way cool to go over the bridge in the playground, again, and again, and again, and again. Every time she got to the other side, she clapped and giggled. It was the cutest thing. I know it is not a major milestone, but these are the things of life and memories.

Chilling Poolside

Here is Elsie in her new bikini! Does it get much cuter than this? I don't think so. She and mommy broke the pool in for 2008 on Saturday, May 10 . It was supercool - except for the faceplant in the water. That was a real shocker for her. Sorry, I did not post any pictures of mommy in her bathing suit as Wyatt is quickly making that suit obsolete.

Members of the Coolest Club Ever

Well, Elsie is now an official Zoo member! She has been enjoying her visits to the Zoo. Her favorite part is the children's Zoo where she can brush the goats and play on the playground. She is an expert slider now - just check out her photo.

Elsie loves to rock

Check out Elsie in her rocking chair. She decided it was the perfect place this morning to eat her "nana". Ah, the life of a one year old!

Bubbles!

Our new favorite thing at bathtime is BUBBLES! Once you do something one time it is a habit! We used some bubbles one night and then very next night, when Mommy asked Elsie if she wanted to take a bath, she went running down the hallway shouting, "BUBBLES, BUBBLES!"

New Shoes!

Check out the cutest new shoes on the block (thanks Grandmama!). They are white patent leather and Elsie loves them. When we picked them out at the store, she did not want to take them off. She did not quite get the concept of "no white shoes till Easter", but she managed to hold off until the Easter Bunny came! And yes Daddy, that is her standing on the kitchen counter! I told her not to tell, but I guess I blew my own cover!

The Easter Bunny is Scary!

Well, we tried to get a happy picture with the Easter Bunny, but alas, we were a little too scared to sit on the lap of a giant bunny without being a little frightened. Here is the best attempt we could manage. Of course, as we were leaving, Elsie said, "bye, bye bunny" like they had been good friends! Special thanks to Grandma for the lovely dress with matching jacket and to Grandmama for the cute shoes and socks!
