First Smiles

Here are some of little Wyatt's first smiles. Thought you would all enjoy a facial expression from him since all of the other pictures are pretty boring on that front. Come by and see a smile! Mommy goes back to work on October 15th so our time together is coming to a close.

Milk Mustache

Thought you would all love this photo of Wyatt with a milk mustache. This is what he looks like after finishing a bottle. His really takes this bottle thing to heart and gets it everywhere. Please note the closed eyes and the open mouth. All that is missing from this photo is the sound of the ahh, that he makes after finishing a bottle. Too cute!

Wyatt and the Hurricane

Well, our little baby showed us how much he likes the air conditioning after the hurricane. Here is a picture of him in just his diaper when we were hanging out at the house with no AC. It was a miserable day and night, but we are so lucky to have power and all of the nice things that come along with it. The next picture is of Braes Bayou as we crossed over it day days AFTER the storm. I took this picture while the kids and I were driving over the bridge on the way church. It was quite a sight to see it so high. The last picture is of us on the playground by the house. We had to get out of the house since there is no school, daycare or much of anything else for that matter. Pray for Houston and all of the families that need power, water, ice, gas and food.

Hurricane Ike

Well, Houston had its first big hurricane in 25 years and we were there through it all. Here are some pics of the damage. The first is what is left of our tree in the front yard. The second is our house (with Jarad cleaning up) and the last one is the view down our driveway. The hurricane hit Friday night and we lost power about 1:30 am. We made it through a long night of driving rain and terrible winds only to wake up to this. We spent a miserable Saturday in the house and then went to an un-air conditioned church on Sunday. Jarad called in the afternoon from the house to say the power was back on! We were so excited. Michael, Chrissy and their boys are staying with us since they have no power at their house. The entire city looks like a battle zone and there are still trees blocking streets. Most people are still without power and there are lines for gas and food everywhere. We are so lucky.

One Month

Well, mom finally got around to taking my one month pictures. Here I am! Don't you think the monkey is too cute? Thanks Amy!

I am looking more handsome by the day. Come by and see me if you haven't yet. Mom and I are up for any adventure - especially lunch - call us!

Wyatt's 1st Zoo trip

Well, Wyatt finally got to see the Zoo firsthand. He spent the morning with his sister Elsie. his cousin Lonon, and his Aunt Liz - and of course mom and dad. A good time was had by all. The Zoo is very special to Wyatt since he was there the day he was born (he just didn't get to see anything since that was before he actually arrived).

OK, I am totally going to get it later in life from both Elsie and Carl, but here is the cutest video of them in the tub.

To Sleep, Perchance to Dream

Here is our little man, sleeping the day away! Today, he has decided to stay awake all day, but this day, he was sleeping so soundly, you could hardly wake him up. He likes to lounge around in the swing, the bouncy seat, the moses basket, his bed, and especially, in mommy or daddy's arms.

Swimming, Swimming, in the Swimming Pool

Mommy has been teaching Elsie the Swimming song (referenced in the title of this blog), but she is not interested. All she cares about these days is swimming in "Elsie's POOL!" Here she is with her towel (and heaven help you if you try to hold it). The bottom picture is of her getting her sunscreen. You will be happy to know that she has her own bottle of sunscreen and no one else is allowed to use it because, of course, it is ELSIE'S sunscreen! We as, as you can tell, still in the thick of the "mine" phase. It is oh so fun!

Handmade Duds

Elsie wanted everyone to see her new duds, handmade especially for her by her Grandma Wire. You can't really see them very well, but there are little pants under the top. She loves this outfit, since it is great for twirling. You can also lift it up to show people your belly button, which is apparently, very important at this age.

Just Like Mommy

If you know Iska, you know that she wears her sunglasses on her head all of the time. So, when Elsie swipped mommy's sunglasses, there was little surprise in what she did next. Jackie O's got nothing on this little girl.

Chow Time

Well, this little boy really knows what to do with a bottle! He can eat and eat! He is already trying to "hold" his bottle. He was already sucking down 4 oz the day after he was born. So if you are free for a while come on over and we will give you a bottle.

What a Pair!

Elsie and her daddy are quite the pair! They were playing with Elsie's new fabric ABC blocks and, what do you know, if you turn them upsidedown, they fit on your head! What will they come up with next?
