Happy 1st Birthday

Elsie had a big time at her first birthday party! It was a My Little Pony theme and very girlie. Here is her cousin Lonon with Uncle Howard - Love the Party hats! Elsie did not eat her cupcake, but she thought it was find to play with the icing. I especially love this photo of her 90 year old Great Granddaddy with his party hat! Carl, whose birthday is about a month before Elsie's, celebrated too since her was sick for his party. It was a great get together.

Reading with Grandma

Elsie really enjoyed her visit with Grandma Wire. Here they are reading a vintage Dr. Suess that Mommy got at the Church library give away. It is a great book and made for a good time between grandaughter and grandma.

Happy Halloween!

Well, the three generations are finally in a photo. Elsie's Grandma was visiting from Virginia during Halloween so her Grandmama picked her up from school and Everyone met up at the Unniversity of Houston were Mommy works for the 3rd annual Great Pumpkin Carving contest. Thanks to "Aunt" Jill for her wonderful photgraphy skills. As you can see Elsie was trying to give away candy, again!

Little Pink Leopard

Check out the cutest little pink leopard ever! Elsie was a pink leopard for Halloween. Yes, it sounds scary, But it was adorable. Mommy went to her party at school and snapped some photos. Her friend Juliette was tigger. What a pair!

Sliding at Dewberry

This was Elsie's first time to go on a slide. It was super fun (but hard on mommy's bottom).

Dewberry Farm

Check out little Elsie on the farm. We visited Dewberry (near Brookshire, TX) for a day of fun with the Lustberg's and the Mackey's. What a great day!

Just jeans and a t-shirt - That's all I need

Thought you might enjoy this pi of Elsie in her new jeans and t-shirt. She is playing with the Kiki, our kitty. For those fashion savvy moms out there - check out the Stride Rites! Finally I got to purchase a pair for out little girl. I have looked at cute little shoes in the window for years and now we have some cute little feet to put in them! But goodness are they pricey! Oh well, she is totally worth it!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

This post is pretty photo intense, but what can I say, we went to two pupkin patches one afternoon.

So Many Toys, So Little Time

Here she is, standing and playing in her toy box. In case you are bored, Elsie suggests that it is the most fun to take everything you possibly can out of the toy box and then go find something else to do.

Tired Girl

I couldn't resist taking this picture one afternoon when Elsie was napping. She has her little tush up in the air and she is drooling. It is tiring to be a 10 month old. I am sure I will get grief about this photo when she is older, but it sure is cute.

Baths are so much fun!

Elsie is really a handful in the bathtub now that she can stand. She is also learning how to scoop up the water and splash it around. Note the University of Houston cup - what a little cougar!

Standing Now!

Check out the latest accomplishment! We can stand, but we still need to use at least one hand.

Bananas!

Elsie ate an entire banana in one morning! This was a big accomplishment for her as she is just started eating table food.

So cool - Shades Required

Just started wearing shades. They only last for a second or two, but they are adorable while they last. she already knows how to do "the look".

Daddy is TOO funny

Ever wonder what a daddy would do to make his little girl laugh? This video says it all. (Although, I don't know that daddy knows he is on the blog doing this yet.) Sssshhhhh!

Dancing Queen

Elsie's mommy and daddy had fun picking out her first big new toy now that Elsie is standing /pulling up. It is a leapfrog table with music and all kinds of stuff! It is really exciting. Elsie now dances to the music. Doesn't she look like she is doing a John Travolta move here? "You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life, oh oh oh, see that girl, watch that scene, digging the dancing queen, oh oh . . . "

Hanging with Daddy

Elsie thinks her Daddy is the cat's meow! Here she is with daddy doing what they do best dinner and slacking off. Needless to say, Elsie has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

Elsie goes to her 1st party

Elsie went to Abby's birthday party at the park with her mom and dad and her grandparents. It was very exciting to be at a big girls party. Elsie dressed up in her finest outfit with matching shoes and hat! Too cute!

Buddies

Here is Elsie and her buddy Carl in a rare pose - sleeping! They are both usually so busy when they are at the Church nursery that they never sleep. It must be tiring to have such undivided attention from the nursery staff.

Time to Brush

The new teeth have created a new chore for Elsie - tooth brushing! Daddy lent her a toothbrush to play with since she wanted to do what daddy was doing. Here she is with her tooth brush just playing around. Yes, we promise to get her an Elsie-sized brush soon!

Two Teeth!

Well, we now have two teeth! Here is a rather fuzzy photo of Elsie's newest addition - her two bottom teeth.

Watch Out!

Well, Elsie has decided that hanging out on her tummy is lame. She is ready to be a big girl. She started pulling up on stuff this weekend. Here is my favorite photo so far of her newfound ability. Caption - "Look what I can do!"

Adopt a Butterfly

Elsie went with her Mommy and Daddy and her friend Rory to the Cockrell Butterfly Center for Rory's mommy's birthday. Each of the little ones adopted a butterfly and got to release it into the center. It was a fun time, but a little hot and muggy. Here are a couple of photos from the event.

Clowning Around with Mommy and Daddy

Here is Elsie in the bathroom, just clowning around. She still loves baths although she does not like to get dressed or put on her diaper afterwards. Oh well, who likes getting dressed?

Daddy'd Little Twister

I am not sure if this is Elsie's first game of Twister or if she just wanted to get to her Daddy and the game got in the way. What a Daddy's girl! She sure knows how to work it.

Elsie's Friend Rory

Here are some pictures of Elsie's friend Rory (and Rory's mommy Jill and daddy Jason). Elsie thinks Rory is totally cool since she can walk and talk, but mostly she likes her sense of fashion. Rory has been kind enough to pass along some of her favorite duds for Elsie to wear. Don't you love the photo of Rory by herself? Did you notice the almost identical sneaky look on her mommy in the photo above it? Scary!!

Elsie and Carl

Well, here they are again, two friends. I don't think they quite know what to say to each other. For now, they just look at each other. You have to wonder what they are thinking. Want to see my crib?

Teething Fun

Well, it is here, Elsie is teething. She got her first tooth last week - bottom left. I would take a photo of it, but little miss "I don't want anyone to see my tooth" won't let me. Anyway, trust us, she is teething. Here is photo of her before the tooth came in - chewing on her fingers. We have had lots of fun!
