Children's Museum

Elsie went to the Children's Museum for the first time with her mommy and daddy during the holidays when mommy was off work. She had a great time in the Tot Spot and experienced all kinds of fun stuff. She tried out everything, but I think she liked the books and the funky balls the best. She was practially attacked by a cute little boy who was there with his parents. He saw her on the walkway, went straight over to her, grabbed her by the shirt and leaned in for a KISS! The parents had to break it up - who knew we already had to worry about that! Then, when we were leaving, he found her again and tried the same thing! Watch out daddy - looks like you will have your hands full!

Riding the Horse

Here is Elsie with her Great-Granddaddy. She loves to "ride the horse" and she giggles every time he tickles her. She thinks granddaddy is pretty cool. She also likes the big dog Cody (who is Pipoo to her, since apparently all dogs are named Piper like her Grandmama's dog). We had a good time visiting with Great-Granddaddy over the holidays and try to go over to see him as often as we can.

More Shots!

Here is little Belle after her one year appt. She got 5, yes FIVE, shots that day. Here is a picture of the bandaids to prove it. Needless to say, she was not a happy camper. Daddy could not go to the appt so mommy had to brave the needles and tears by herself. Daddy is totally going on the next trip.

Starbucks Girl

This is Elsie on one of her first trips to Starbucks (she and mommy go often, probably more often that daddy would like). She went to meet her Grandmama and Papa before running around town. She is not sure what her favorite drink is yet, but the organic milk looked pretty good.

Christmas Presents by Elsie

Elsie made these Christmas presents herself (well, she did have a little help from mommy and her daddy held her down to get the paint on her feet) at the Mad Potter. These pictures are before the items were fired, so they are a little light, but you get the idea. We had tons of fun making them.

Adopt a ButterFly - 2nd Time

Elsie, mommy and daddy went to the Butterfly Center for Elsie's birthday. We adopted two butterfly's and this time Elsie really enjoyed the event. Here she is with her rice paper butterfly. Elsie released one of the butterfly's in memory of her Great Grandmother Shirley Wire and one just for her! We hope to do it again next year. It was so fun!

Happy 1st Birthday

Elsie had a big time at her first birthday party! It was a My Little Pony theme and very girlie. Here is her cousin Lonon with Uncle Howard - Love the Party hats! Elsie did not eat her cupcake, but she thought it was find to play with the icing. I especially love this photo of her 90 year old Great Granddaddy with his party hat! Carl, whose birthday is about a month before Elsie's, celebrated too since her was sick for his party. It was a great get together.

Reading with Grandma

Elsie really enjoyed her visit with Grandma Wire. Here they are reading a vintage Dr. Suess that Mommy got at the Church library give away. It is a great book and made for a good time between grandaughter and grandma.

Happy Halloween!

Well, the three generations are finally in a photo. Elsie's Grandma was visiting from Virginia during Halloween so her Grandmama picked her up from school and Everyone met up at the Unniversity of Houston were Mommy works for the 3rd annual Great Pumpkin Carving contest. Thanks to "Aunt" Jill for her wonderful photgraphy skills. As you can see Elsie was trying to give away candy, again!

Trunk or Treat

Here is Elsie at the Church Turnk of Treat event. She was great at handing out candy and even had her own treat bucket!

Sliding at Dewberry

This was Elsie's first time to go on a slide. It was super fun (but hard on mommy's bottom).

Dewberry Farm

Check out little Elsie on the farm. We visited Dewberry (near Brookshire, TX) for a day of fun with the Lustberg's and the Mackey's. What a great day!

Just jeans and a t-shirt - That's all I need

Thought you might enjoy this pi of Elsie in her new jeans and t-shirt. She is playing with the Kiki, our kitty. For those fashion savvy moms out there - check out the Stride Rites! Finally I got to purchase a pair for out little girl. I have looked at cute little shoes in the window for years and now we have some cute little feet to put in them! But goodness are they pricey! Oh well, she is totally worth it!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

This post is pretty photo intense, but what can I say, we went to two pupkin patches one afternoon.

So Many Toys, So Little Time

Here she is, standing and playing in her toy box. In case you are bored, Elsie suggests that it is the most fun to take everything you possibly can out of the toy box and then go find something else to do.

Tired Girl

I couldn't resist taking this picture one afternoon when Elsie was napping. She has her little tush up in the air and she is drooling. It is tiring to be a 10 month old. I am sure I will get grief about this photo when she is older, but it sure is cute.

Baths are so much fun!

Elsie is really a handful in the bathtub now that she can stand. She is also learning how to scoop up the water and splash it around. Note the University of Houston cup - what a little cougar!

Standing Now!

Check out the latest accomplishment! We can stand, but we still need to use at least one hand.

Bananas!

Elsie ate an entire banana in one morning! This was a big accomplishment for her as she is just started eating table food.

So cool - Shades Required

Just started wearing shades. They only last for a second or two, but they are adorable while they last. she already knows how to do "the look".

Daddy is TOO funny

Ever wonder what a daddy would do to make his little girl laugh? This video says it all. (Although, I don't know that daddy knows he is on the blog doing this yet.) Sssshhhhh!

Dancing Queen

Elsie's mommy and daddy had fun picking out her first big new toy now that Elsie is standing /pulling up. It is a leapfrog table with music and all kinds of stuff! It is really exciting. Elsie now dances to the music. Doesn't she look like she is doing a John Travolta move here? "You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life, oh oh oh, see that girl, watch that scene, digging the dancing queen, oh oh . . . "

Hanging with Daddy

Elsie thinks her Daddy is the cat's meow! Here she is with daddy doing what they do best dinner and slacking off. Needless to say, Elsie has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

Elsie goes to her 1st party

Elsie went to Abby's birthday party at the park with her mom and dad and her grandparents. It was very exciting to be at a big girls party. Elsie dressed up in her finest outfit with matching shoes and hat! Too cute!

Buddies

Here is Elsie and her buddy Carl in a rare pose - sleeping! They are both usually so busy when they are at the Church nursery that they never sleep. It must be tiring to have such undivided attention from the nursery staff.
